Livingstone College is a private, historically black, four-year college. We were founded by and are affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Livingstone College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the baccalaureate degree. Livingstone offers a number of opportunities for students to participate in religious, social, cultural, recreational, and athletic activities and is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division II, and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). Our 272-acre campus is located in historic Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina; a town of approximately 30,000 within an hour's drive of two major metropolitan areas: Charlotte and the Piedmont Triad of Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point. Currently, the college has an enrollment of just under 1200 students from 23 states, the District of Columbia and 8 foreign countries.  Today, Livingstone College is a living symbol of the educational and social progress of African-Americans. The institution reflects the ideals of self-help, self-development, and self-determination, which are essential expressions of a Livingstone College education.
